I've been an avid member of spacebattles (a site with a large and active subforum for writing) for a couple of months and a member of scribophile (a site focused completely on writing. ) for even longer already. And if there is one thing I learned from the first site is that feedback on writing ideas is a great thing. and with severl people its easier to find the holes in a flimsy plot idea.
From the latter site I learned that getting critique on your writings is pretty damn important. even though it might sometimes be a harsh truth to swallow.
So I came up with this idea. got a story idea you aren't sure about. Or want a second opinion about? Have a small snippet that isn't long enough to merit its own story thread just yet. Well throw it in here and we'll give you a second opinion about it. Or at least I will .
(note, I'm eddie manning on scribophile and exewon on spacebattles. Look me up there if you want both are free and while spacebattes comunity is slightly iffy at times. The community on scribophile is friendly. I don't know how they react to furries though.. unfortunately thanks to the very vocal and depraved minority we got a bit of a bad rep on the internet idiots but you guy's already knew that.)
So to start off i'll throw out an idea I've been bouncing around in my own head.
In a world ruled by the tyrannical empire any dissenters, lawbreakers, firebrands, carnivores who get a bit uppity and otherwise undesirable subjects get banished to the massive caverns below the empire, Avernum. A fate seen as worse then death.
This is the fate of dozens of 'criminals' every year. Lok has been found guilty of being born because infernal blood flows through his veins. Sallia has been condemned to avernum for being a 'disruptive influence'. Her crime was not liking the oppressive rule of the empire and saying so.
Can the outsider and the firebrand put their differences aside and work together? More then likely. The big question is, will it matter anyway?
(snippet is in planning phase.)
also. Does every story on this site have to be an anthro story? this one is one by design, but I think I got a few other non-anthro stories on my hard drive that I could put up.
