I've decided to try and make a little more sense out of my sites, and try and make them all one site! Sorta. What I'm going to work towards is having all my sites self hosted (saving money) and in a common format under the .jades.net.au URL. So I'm gunna have a splash page, then a Webcomics page (based on jadesanthrowebcomic.com) and sites page (based on an fusion of jadesden.com and jadesdenafterdark). Webvixen.net may go, or I'll have it as a access page or something,and this forum will also remain, but I'll take down the hosting one, as it is unused and not as good as this one can potenially be (you know, if I get off my lasy behind and pretty it up some...). Either the top site will remain as a satellite page to the Webcomic one, or I am going to investigate other top site options as the current one sucks. This will be a gradual process depending heavily on the amount of available time I have, and be quite literally an lights out one day, lights on the next transfer where all the sites change over at once. I'll post up with plenty of warning, and the same on the new pages, telling folks to update their links and tags. Look forward to it  |

yay for upgrades. it'll be nice to streamline the whole process.
I do really notice the top comics site starting to falter. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but I noticed the site was resetting every day.

Ahhh, freakin ...poo.  Yeah, the guys who first set it (the top sites program and server) up were really good, but then this other guy took over, and he does not care about it at all. A lot of the previous functionality is now gone, and the bugs are eating away at it. Damn it! Now I WILL have to find something else, but in the mean time I'll see if I can fix anything from my end  Edit: Somehow the site was getting reranked every 1 day. It's now back to 25 until the end of the month, and then I'll fix it to 31 again. |

Whelp, I've got a bit of a Beta done up for the new layout I going to be using for my sites when I'm all done and dusted. This will be the new Jades Den when it's done. I'm yet to migrate Jades Anthro Webcomic's, or Updated this site to match but I'll get there, I promise! Edit: Yeah, I played with this site a little, what do you think? |

This is Freakin' INSANE!!!!  I just started migrating Jades Anthro Webcomic's across, and it's MADDENING!!!! First off, not all the Media files migrated, which I was a little disappointed with, so I had to go in and edit the posts. Good thing too, because the ones that DID come across weren't actually sourced from within the new website, but from the old one, meaning that as soon as I turned off the old one, all my media would have disappeared. So now I'm going through each post, Copying across the old media to the new site, adjusting the source code so that it reads correctly and then going through and making updates to the posts as I go. It's slow. MEGA slow. With over 200 posts, with about 4 images per post, over 2 sites, thats over 1600 images I need to correct, place and update.  I then need to set up the site with all the correct metrics so it responds with the other sites and looks and feels the same, but that is WAY off yet. And thats without TOUCHING the splash page for the sites, any of the Artwork for the links or the Advertising banners, and to TOP ALL THAT OFF, I've promised to help revitalise IAF in ALL MY SPAIR TIME!!!!  Well, at least it will all be worth it, right?  |

Long story short; Save image, upload image, copy link, paste link into meta data of old image. Times four. Over 200 times. Then make sure it all works, update the listing, move on. T-T

This is SO freakin painful! It doesn't help that I am being slack. Well, not slack, but unproductive. I got a new Computer. Cos I can. It's a super flash gaming one, so it's all shiny 'n stuff. BUT, and there is always a but, I couldn't get it to work with my monitor AT ALL yesterday when I bought it home. So first thing this morning (well first thing Adelaide time, it was actually 1100 before anything opened. I hate Adelaide, Laziest City EVER!) I took it back and BAM! They plugged it in and it worked. So I took it home and plugged it in, and BAM! It worked.  Stupid Jerk Computer, making me talk to the Tech Geek and making me look like a.... Girl! "Oh no, I've tried EVERYTHING and it just doesn't work.... Oh, look, it works now..."  So I've been setting it up, and installing drivers and such, and I'm currently downloading WoW so I can start playing that again. Most. Painful. Instal. EVER! It is the downside of WoW tho... OH! Elder scrolls Online is coming All of Tamrial, all the Races, and All the AWESOME!!!! I haven't really followed it up since I heard about it (Yesterday from the Games store guy when I went and bought Skyrim for my schmancy new 'puter), but how can it fail? Awesome |

Just in case people care, I got through 2 Pages (thats like, 50 posts) of updates today! Woo! I now only have a page and a half to go! My goal is to have all this sorted by the end of the weekend, so that the new sites at least get released. Then I can work on a proper blog site, a new Top site (Maybe...) and all the art for the arformentioned.. (Sigh...)

...and it was all going so well... ...right up until I completely deleted the new Jades Den site.... I was a good girl, not fits of rage, no breaking things, just a deep breath, and start again. So it's going to slow things for a bit. The new Jades Anthro Webcomics is up to date, I've started on the Jades Home page (until I realized what I had done)so I just have to re-input all the posts from Jades Den, cos none of the posts came across on the export for whatever reason. UNTIL A FLASH OF BRILLIANCE just came to me and I fixed that! God I am awesome! Just fixed the post problem then. I hope  |

It reminds me (a little) of a VCR I had, which was about $800 at the time because it had all the mod-cons (including editing pause-jack-cord-connection and frame-by-frame advance). After awhile it decided it wasn't going to record sound. After putting up with that for about a year and a half, finally taking it to the repairers...and the fault decided it was going to be an "intermittent fault" and was going to work properly when they tested it! |
