I love this comic, the comics are so funny, and I like being able to read fox's comments as well as Mandy's

Fox and Mandy have been busy! They updated their CSS to a Comic press one, and it looks even better than before! And that's saying something...

Read the entire comic now. I really like it. The jokes are pretty standard but still funny. but I really like the artstyle of the entire comic

Ohhh Yeeeeah, that little Drama didn't play out on here did it?
Basically, long story short and all that, Matt was going to Afghanistan AGAIN as most folks know, Mid to Late last year.
We were going through all the same legal junk we go through each time, and one of us, I honestly can't remember who, mentioned how much easier it would be if we were Married.
Now it was all a pretty much a forgone conclusion that one day we WOULD get Married, probably, but I should probably qualify a few things first.
We are both pretty staunch Atheists. We both grew up in very religious families, and didn't like it. We both see "Marriage" as a religious ceremony conducted before God, and thus not particularly interested. However, there are Legal benefits to marriage that make life SO much easier when your spouse is away and you need to do stuff on their behalf. So off to the registry we went and we got all married. In a waiting room with a clip board.
The basic plan was we would have the Wedding when he got back. Maybe. If we felt like it.
Turns out getting Married and telling your parents about it after the fact isn't that crash hot an idea. They were PISSED! Like proper Pissed. Both sides.
Kitty was fine, he could just tell 'em to get stuffed and bugger off over seas. Not me, I had to deal with his and my parents and the fits they were throwing over it all. We have basically been told we are to have a wedding and they will pay for it (ie, we will have their wedding the way they want it).
I REALLY don't like being told what to do at the best of times. I like it a lot less when it is something big like this.
As much as I Louth to admit it, I am kind of excited at the prospect of having a wedding. I've got to be a girl sometimes, and this just turns out to be one of the things I'm allowing myself to be all girly about.
But what has me bitter is that everyone else has it in their head about what is best for us and how we ARE to do it all. It really brings out my almost non existent nasty side when our families start on us about it, and I don't like it.
I DO want a Wedding, but I don't want what everyone else wants for us, and that's whats got my goat about the whole thing.

As a person from a rather non-religious family I can't really say I know how that feels. But one pair of my grandparents are pretty religious so I can at least imagine the situation slightly. Ouch doesn't seem like fun.
Though on one hand I can also relate with your parents that you didn't tell anybody you were getting married until after the fact. My own father pulled that one on me and my brother and I can tell you that we still haven't forgiven him for that. And it's been a few years already.
On the other hand, them forcing you two to have a wedding on their terms isn't really nice either.
I hope you can make the best of it though :/.
Just look on the bright side at least you don't have to pay for anything?

Yeah, that's not happening.
They can feel free to pay for bits and pieces like the booze and catering if the want to contribute, but Location and Ceremony are going OUR way like it or not.
