neat, I definatly need to get the book. I managed to get the previous edition out of the bargain bin. I really like what I read in there, but from what I read int he previeuw a lot has changed. Maybe for the better though, sincet he system in the first version was a bit... awkward. Just one question, is there still a magic resistance trait in the second edition? Really liked that one in the first one. Also about the rolls and characters being made by the GM. I'm okay with the GM rolling though I would let the others make their own character. Making your own character is half the fun of an RPG game in my opinion the older version is so different, I don't think it can even be compared with the current build. There are magic resistance gifts, yes, but it's very diferent (I'd say for the better) I could certainly do something online (forum would be best), it'd take a little longer, but we could do it (I'd have to be a little clever sending character creation info across though) when you mean rolling, do you mean for like combat? (I'd assume so, because you don't really roll characters in Ironclaw) If so, It'd probably be best if the GM rolled (of course we should let people create their own characters. You're right, it's the best part.) would I be the GM in this? I mean, I have the books n all. Time it takes would be over Months I'm guessing, but that would be part of the Fun! Doing it Post by post means that people in other time zones can participate, you would just have to make it turn based. Character Sheets could be Scanned as .jpegs (or if in .pdf format could be converted or just emailed to me and I can do it for you) and Posted in a Character Section so all could see. That way as you level you could just update your info by listing it in your characters thread, or update it on your sheet and upload it and edit your original post!

A pretty good idea. I'll need to start brainstorming for some character concepts so I'll have at least one that fits with what the others want in the group

Oh, and after having a quick read, their Vixen Character IS SO TOTALLY NOT a rip off of Naga the White Serpent...

I loved Slayers, and still do, and it has nothing to do with the short Red hared main character But yes, I do get your point

Of course not Anyway on a different note, do you already have an idea for the kind of character you want to play?

I'm pretty sure that character generation help is for the first edition. Since its numbers match up perfectly with my book. ^^;

Yep, I'm sure, the system matches, they even use the same example character that they used in the first edition. It's the first edition book. still, you could use that help file to get a few ideas down already 1st edition or not, they are still similar enough for that... I think.

jeez, you guys talk fast, I go skyrim for a little bit and when I come back, there's a whole new page in this topic. really, the main useful thing on their downloads page (other than character sheets) is this: www.sanguinegames.com/download/Ironclaw%20-%20Squaring%20the%20Circle%20Preview.pdfas far as character creation is concerned, there is a large amount of stuff only in the books. It just means I'm going to have to be clever in giving you info. Gifts, in particular, are going to have to be something I give info on in a slightly roundabout way. I figure I'd set up characters you with you guys like I do with people who are new to the whole system, step by step (luckily the steps are also in that link, so it shouldn't be too hard). the first two steps other than personality creation are species and career. there are plenty of species listed already in the book, so I figure you might just pick an animal and if it's not in there we can adjust the traits of one that does exist to fit it. I'll put a list of careers up here and you can ask for details on specific ones: Almoner(a cleric, pretty much) Bawd, Bodygaurd, bounty hunter, burglar, charlatan, dilettante, dopplesoldner, elementalist, explorer, knight, mercenary, messenger, paladin, pit fighter, rake, ranger, scout, soldier, sorcerer, spellbinder, thamaturge, vagabond, warlock. I think the most important part really is deciding the personality of your character first, it makes the rest of the steps much easier.
