I'm not sure if anyone else has heard of this before, but I just got my hands on a tabletop RPG called Ironclaw, It's super interesting and the art is very nice in the book. Unfortunately all my friends who play DnD aren't furries, so It'll be an uphill battle before I can actually host anything, but still, having it is pretty cool

I have heard of it, I came across these guys a while ago whilst listing sites on Jades Den and was going to follow up a little more on it, but just didn't. Worth checking out. www.sanguinegames.com/

It's definitely interesting, there are so many options as far species go and it's much easier to set up a character than regular DnD. I've amazingly rounded up a ton of friends to play it (which is very surprising.) I've never played or hosted a tabletop game before, so this'll be great to try.

hmm, this looks like an intresting RPG to try out. How easy is it to teach the mechanics of it to other people? what kind of system is it? Class and level based? Or more openended like Dark heresy (and its spinoffs) and nwod?

It's not a level system like dnd, that's for sure. I'd say it's kind of like skyrim-esque in that you can spend experience points to get a gift/skill of some sort. It's definitely pretty open leveling wise. there are careers, but they pretty much tell you how to make your own, so that's pretty open too

That is neat, the group I usually play with don't really like class based games. So I'll see if I can't get my hands on this game

Hmm... Might haave to look into it myself.. I wonder if you can set this up as a Forum or IRC Based game...?
IRC would be difficult due to Time Zone differences, but maybe a Forum based Game where each player posts their turn (no edits allowed), and the game master makes all the rolls and all Characters/cards are preregistered?? IDK the game mechanics or if it would work, just sort of casually rolling an Idea...

hmmm, forum games are doable (if drawn out) I did a few of them myself. If it would happen I would be interested in them though I love RPG games and my group doesn't play them as often as I would like. (tri-montly get togethers it is :/)

Incidentally, you can get some idea of the game with the preview pages of the rules that are available on the site! www.sanguinegames.com/download/Ironclaw%20-%20Squaring%20the%20Circle%20Preview.pdfAnd sample character sheets and more on: www.sanguinegames.com/downloads/

neat, I definatly need to get the book. I managed to get the previous edition out of the bargain bin. I really like what I read in there, but from what I read int he previeuw a lot has changed. Maybe for the better though, sincet he system in the first version was a bit... awkward. Just one question, is there still a magic resistance trait in the second edition? Really liked that one in the first one. Also about the rolls and characters being made by the GM. I'm okay with the GM rolling though I would let the others make their own character. Making your own character is half the fun of an RPG game in my opinion

Making your own character is half the fun of an RPG game in my opinion the older version is so different, I don't think it can even be compared with the current build. There are magic resistance gifts, yes, but it's very diferent (I'd say for the better) I could certainly do something online (forum would be best), it'd take a little longer, but we could do it (I'd have to be a little clever sending character creation info across though) when you mean rolling, do you mean for like combat? (I'd assume so, because you don't really roll characters in Ironclaw) If so, It'd probably be best if the GM rolled (of course we should let people create their own characters. You're right, it's the best part.) would I be the GM in this? I mean, I have the books n all.

Yes, then I'll probably have to buy the second version as well one day. And probably yes Pikachao. Just a question, would it be possible for you to give an abbreviation version of the main rules and the character creation rules? Just as a reference so we all don't need to buy the books. Just keep the tables for equipment and the GM sections out of it so we can't be sued for breaking copyright or something .

If you Guys want I can set up an Area in the Forum? I can do a public area for Discussion and Requests to play, and an Invite only area to stop Randoms from interfering with the Game. I'll have to post up some rules for it and the like, but there shouldn't be any dramas with it it
